On June 9, 2025, in Tashkent, within the framework of the Uzbekistan-Slovakia Business Forum, an important cooperation agreement was signed between JSC EIIS “Uzbekinvest” — the state export-credit agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan — and the Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic (EXIMBANKA SR). This step marks a milestone in the strengthening of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Slovakia, opening new prospects for supporting national exports in both countries.
The agreement aims to develop mechanisms for supporting export-import operations, including financial and insurance assistance to both Uzbek and Slovak exporters. Under the agreement, the parties agreed to cooperate in the areas of export risk insurance, reinsurance, exchange of experience and best practices, as well as the joint development of new insurance and financial instruments to promote international trade.
Special attention will be given to staff training and professional development, exchange of analytical and statistical information, and the formation of joint initiatives to protect the interests of investors operating in international markets.
The signing of this document carries strategic importance not only for bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Slovakia, but also for the broader integration of Uzbekistan’s economy into European and global supply chains. It reflects the growing interest of European countries in expanding their presence in Central Asia, as well as Uzbekistan’s efforts to diversify its export markets and attract investment.
